Rashad McCants and his younger sister Rashanda share the same passion i.e., basketball.

Rashanda followed in her brother’s footsteps attending the same university and making it to the highest professional level.

After playing for two seasons in the WNBA, Rashanda is now involved in the real estate industry.

Presently, she is a married woman and mother of one daughter.

Talking about Rashad, he played collegiate basketball at North Carolina and scored 1721 points during his time there.

Impressed by his performance, the Minnesota Timberwolves drafted him as the 14th overall pick in the 2005 NBA draft.

However, his stint in the NBA was short, as he played four seasons with the Timberwolves and one with the Sacramento Kings.

The American former professional basketball player Rashad McCants was born on September 25, 1984, to parents Brenda & James McCants.

He has two younger sisters named Rashanda and Sade McCants.

As stated earlier, his sister Rashanda also played basketball, following in her brother’s footsteps.

She attended Asheville High School and was an All-America selection by McDonald’s.

Rashanda and her older brother, Rashad, are the first brother-sister duo to play in the McDonald’s All-American Game.

The younger sister of Rashad played collegiate basketball for the University of North Carolina (2005-2009).

Besides playing basketball, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree majoring in communication media production.

Following the end of her college, the Minnesota Lynx drafted her as the 15th overall pick in the WNBA draft in 2009.

She played 51 games for the Lynx, starting in 5 of them before being traded to the Tulsa Shock.

The power forward played 6 games for the Shock but was waived by the team in June 2011.

Thriving Beyond the WNBA

After WNBA, Rashanda worked at Anderson Automotive Group for more than four years.

She started as a sales consultant before getting promoted to business finance manager.

The former basketball player then worked as a real estate broker at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Carolinas Realty for two years, from July 2018 to July 2020.

After that, she joined Orchard in December 2020 and worked there until March 2023 as a home advisor and buyer specialist.

Presently, Rashanda has been working as a realtor at HomeCoachRealty since March 2023.

On a personal note, she tied the knot with Chris K Johnson on May 1, 2019. Her husband, Chris, is a sales manager at Mark Jacobson Toyota.

Together, they are doting parents of one daughter named Reya Johnson.
